Pictured here, hard at work, is Tom Mozer, who I introduced you to a few days ago. Tom is very active with the Fleet Committee and we depend on him for many other aspects of running a Museum as well. Tom lives relatively close to the Museum so he gets called upon a lot when a bus needs to be moved!

Also pictured in this blog is Pastor Dan Lehman--chairman of the Fleet Committee--and another one of our dedicated Board Members. Many of you probably don't recognize Pastor Dan in this picture because he is "out of character"--that's right--he is our very own Santa Claus. He and his lovely wife, Dolores, become Mr. and Mrs. Claus every November and December.....they can be found greeting visitors to the Allenberry Resort Inn and Playhouse. Dan spends a lot of his time at the Annex because he is in charge of making sure the vehicles are up and running--which is no easy task with a fleet of antique vehicles. Dan and his wife Dolores are also very dedicated to Carry the Light Ministries and each Christmas collect non-perishable foods and deliver them to needy families! Way to go Dan and Dolores. (Actually, they have a food bank open year-round and help many, many families throughout the year).

I thought I had taken individual pictures of more of the Board Members but when I downloaded my pictures--I had not--so will do that at a future meeting and introduce you to the rest of them. I think it is nice to put a face to a name!

Oops - I goofed and this got published a day early--but none the less--there may be a few days without a posting as we will be heading to NY on short notice as my Mother passed away late Friday night. I'll be back posting as soon as I can

Bus driver delivers free home-cooked meals - that's what the headline of CNN Heroes reads. Boy that does my heart good....you can read the entire story here: http://www.cnn.com/2009/LIVING/03/19/cnnheroes.jorge.munoz/index.html

Did you know we have our own "hero" right here at the Museum of Bus Transportation? Pastor Dan Lehman, Vice President of the Board of Directors and our Fleet Manager and Chaplain (icarrythelight4god@msn.com) began a food pantry several years ago. Donation containers can be found around the Susquehanna Valley AND at the Museum during the months of November and December each year. I believe Dan and his Carry The Light Ministry fed 50 families last year and 40 the year before. He said that the demand grows all the time. The pantry is open year round for those in need. Donations to the ministry or if you are need of food, help or prayers, please contact the ministry by phone at 717 691 8200 or mailing to 16 Dewalt Drive Mechanicsburg, PA. 17050. Thanks Dan for a job well done!

Do you know someone you would like us to highlight in our blog? Please email us the details at thebusmuseum@yahoo.com.
